Urea Fluid Concentration Too Low (P207F)

Dosing control unit (DCU) (A21) detects an abnormal diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) concentration for 10 minutes or more.

Derates the machine and shuts down the SCR system.

inspect the quality of the DEF insure there are no cracks in the tank to allow water in.

inspect the DEF sensor.

Work order notes:

COMPLAINT

Machine has faults and is derated. RED ECM 10523.12 DEF quality error - low urea concentration RED ECM 4332.12 Tampering.

CAUSE

DEF header/quality sensor failed internally.

CORRECTION

Removed one of the top panels and the screens covering the coolers, removed all the tin surrounding the DEF tank and a cover on top of the DEF header. Removed the hold down for the DEF header, disconnected the DEF and the coolant lines and put up out of the way, removed the hose clamp that was holding the header in the tank. Removed the header and set aside, installed the new header and installed the hose clamp to secure to the tank. Hooked up the DEF and coolant lines, removed the belly pans and searched for the in line blank filter, found the blank filter wrapped in a piece of heat shield. Replaced the existing filter with the new blank one, installed the belly pans and tin surrounding the DEF tank. Installed the door latch and the top panel, turned the key on and checked for codes, no active codes were present. Cleared the stored codes, cleaned up work area and secured tools.

Tested DEF and it was within spec. (Def quality tested at 33.2 %).
