Apex TECHNOLOGY General manager

SUMMARY

The General Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations and strategy for APEX Technologies. They must oversee all elements of the business including, but not limited to, hiring and management of sales and support personnel, creating strategies aimed at growing profitability and achieving corporate objectives, developing solutions to meet customer’s needs/expectations, and maintain the highest ethical and professional standards to uphold the McCoy brand.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

May include some or all the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Responsible for hiring, ensuring appropriate training, and motivating APEX employees.
  • Create key performance indicators and manage the performance of APEX personnel towards those goals.
  • Develop strategies to encourage customer satisfaction and grow McCoy’s (APEX & McCoy Construction & Forestry) overall Machine Control market share.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction with APEX products, services, and personnel and, when warranted, promptly engage in conflict resolution.
  • Analyze accounting and financial data and properly communicate the overall financial health of the APEX business unit. Drive for financial success.
  • Monitor applicable inventory levels and demand. Make or recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Understand Grade Control Systems generally and have a broad understanding of the industry.
  • Engage with MCF General Managers and Territory Managers to support ongoing development and capability within MCF.
  • Ensure understanding of all company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Properly document and follow appropriate company processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular onsite attendance.

Education, Skills and Knowledge Required:

Formal education or training required to perform the essential functions of the job. Includes degrees, certifications, licenses and/or registration requirements, or equivalent experience.


  • Degree in Engineering/Technology or Business Administration/Marketing discipline or equivalent industry experience. (University Degree or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years related industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated business acumen.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, conflict resolution, and public speaking skills.
  • Effective working cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of appropriate industry (Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others).
  • Capable of setting up, demonstrating, and diagnosing issues on grade control technology.
  • Preferred experience with Topcon, Trimble, or Leica products.
