Service Supervisor

McCoy Construction & Forestry, a John Deere dealership group with 25 locations across the Midwest and East South Central Regions, has an opening for a Service Supervisor.

 

The Service Supervisor is responsible for the effective management of work orders and supports the Service Manager in all efforts to drive service revenues, service profitability, and customer satisfaction.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority):


  • Open and close work orders for control of each job
  • Frequent interaction with customers to explain quotes, communicate changes while work is underway, review final work order and billing with customers, and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Up-sell any service that is necessary to keep the product operating more efficiently and safely
  • Stay current on product improvement programs (PIPs) from John Deere
  • Coordinate with John Deere on programs, warranties, and technical machine problems
  • Monitor and schedule pick-up and delivery of equipment
  • Monitor all work in process
  • Ensure timely closing of work orders upon completion
  • Assist Service Manager with scheduling jobs and assigning appropriate technicians
  • Monitor customer satisfaction through follow up phone calls
  • Assist in planning and developing service marketing programs
  • Look up appropriate parts and labor and develops quotes for service work
  • Communicate effectively and cooperatively across departments
  • Always monitor and support safe work practices and culture
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned



Education, Skills & Knowledge Required:


  • Two-year certificate from college or technical school and/or two-years of related experience desired College degree preferred. Heavy equipment service experience may be substituted or combined with education.
  • Highly effective organization and communication skills, ability to maintain clear and accurate records
  • Broad based computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Possess excellent time management skills and able to multi-task
  • Ability to work under conditions of periodic mental stress
  • Ability to concentrate on several issues at the same time
  • Ability to sit frequently and for long durations
  • Ability to use problem-solving skills, interpret data, organize, plan, and communicate by speaking and writing
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities on short notice
  • Ability to make decisions based on logic and company protocols and procedure
  • Maintain regular on-site attendance
