used equipment SALES REPRESENTATIVE

McCoy Construction & Forestry, a John Deere dealership group with 25 locations across the Midwest and East South Central Regions, has an opening for an Used Equipment Sales Representative.


The Used Equipment Sales Representative serves customers by selling products and meeting customers needs. The representative will assist the used equipment manager in all activities related to used machine sales.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority): 


  • Prospect and sell used equipment
  • Discover sales opportunities through consumer research
  • Devise marketing strategies
  •  Present products and services to prospective customers
  • Promptly respond to telephone and email inquiries from customer and sales personnel
  • Work with managers and ISRs to create quality photos for uploading in a timely fashion to all our media outlets
  • Negotiate and maintain proper credibility with potential customers
  • Maintain regular onsite attendance
  • Any other duties as delegated by senior management



Education, Skills and Knowledge Required:


  • Bachelor's degree (B. A./B.S.) in related field from four-year college or university and at least three years’ experience in a sales position with responsibility for direct supervision of subordinate staff; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Inventory software; Microsoft Outlook internet software and Order processing systems. Experience with ADP applications preferred
  • Good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
