entry-level Utility Worker/Yard Specialist

McCoy Construction & Forestry, a John Deere dealership group with 25 locations across the Midwest and East South-Central Regions, has an opening for an entry-level Utility Worker/Yard Specialist.

We are looking for a person who is highly motivated that we can invest in and grow with our company.  This person will assist our dealership with maintenance, movers, assemblers, and technicians as needed, and may assist with work orders, shipping documents, and inventory when requested. This person will also help ensure safety procedures are followed.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority): 

• Service equipment as needed
• Assist service technicians with inspections, oil changes, delivery of parts, etc. as needed
• Assist with repairing, servicing, and moving equipment
• Clean, organize, and maintain the condition of shop, vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
• Perform diagnostic tests as requested
• Maintain accurate records of repairs performed
• Assist in loading equipment by using the proper checklist form for equipment leaving the store
• Perform yard maintenance and clean up around the store
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education, Skills & Knowledge Required:

• High school diploma or equivalency required
• Trade/vocational school education strongly preferred
• Must be at least 21 years old, with a valid driver’s license
• Experience with basic computer functions
• Experience communicating effectively both verbally and in writing
• Experience working cooperatively in a team environment
• Ability to handle fast-paced work environment
